Some cats have a natural dignity you cannot explain — you simply see it. The Aurex Cat Collar was designed for exactly these cats. The characteristic shirt collar front panel — two curved leather wings that meet at the center — is not a decorative detail. It is a design statement that elevates the collar from the category of accessory into the category of statement piece. A collar you show off.

Material & Craftsmanship

The base material is high-density microfiber PU leather (polyurethane composite leather) — a two-layer construction consisting of a polyester carrier fleece and a laminated polyurethane top layer. This material class surpasses genuine leather in several relevant properties: it is completely vegan, more consistent in surface structure, more resistant to moisture, and tested under the REACH Regulation to be free of plasticizers (phthalate-free), azo dyes, and heavy metals — especially important for direct contact with sensitive cat skin.

The characteristic white contrast stitching in high-tenacity polyester thread is executed on both sides in an even saddle stitch — a visible sign of careful workmanship that will not tear even under strong tension. The shirt collar front panel is made from the same material in double layer — shape-stable, soft at the edges, and precisely symmetrical in the two collar wings.

Hardware & Fittings

The side buckle in glass fiber-reinforced polyamide PA66 — the same material class used in medical devices and climbing equipment — opens with one hand but holds securely against the cat opening it independently. The central ball stud in polished 304 stainless steel secures the front panel and simultaneously serves as an elegant accent. The small O-ring in 304 stainless steel holds ID tags or GPS trackers without straining the cat's neck. All metal parts are nickel-free.

Safety & Quality

All materials are tested for harmful substances under the REACH Regulation — phthalate-free, free of azo dyes, formaldehyde, and heavy metals. The PU leather contains no harmful plasticizers and is specifically tested for prolonged skin contact. All seams are double-stitched and tested for tensile strength. The collar is designed to neither dig in nor chafe — for maximum wearing comfort even during all-day wear.

Size & Fit

Measure neck circumference with a soft tape measure. Allow 1–1.5 inches of slack. When between sizes, choose the larger size.

Available Colors

Red, Yellow, Navy Blue — all with white contrast stitching and silver stainless steel fittings. All colors are permanently fixed with REACH-compliant reactive dyes.

Care

Wipe clean with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Do not machine wash. Polish the stainless steel fittings with a dry microfiber cloth. Occasionally treat the PU leather with a pH-neutral cleaner for synthetic leather — this preserves the surface structure and prevents the PU layer from drying out.
