The Aurex Prestige Collar is the result of a single conviction: that a dog who walks by your side every day deserves the best that leather craftsmanship has to offer. Full-grain leather. Solid brass. Material & Craftsmanship

The outer leather is vegetable-tanned full-grain cowhide — not split, not buffed, not corrected. Tanning with natural plant tannins from quebracho and chestnut bark takes several weeks and produces a leather that is free of chromium(VI) compounds and compliant with the REACH Regulation. The surface shows the natural grain of the hide — proof that no inferior base material was used.

The inside is lined with soft, buffed split leather — smooth, seamless, and without friction points against the dog's neck. The surrounding double edge stitching in light contrast thread is executed with waxed polyester saddler's thread in saddle stitch — on both sides, symmetrically, under even tension. This stitching technique is known from the production of riding saddles and is designed for a lifespan of decades.

Hardware & Fittings

The buckle, D-ring, keeper, and rivets are made from solid brass (CuZn37) — cast, not stamped, with a high-gloss polished surface. The roller buckle with a moveable inner axle reduces friction during daily adjustment and protects the leather at the buckle tongue over years of use. The two dome rivets that secure the D-ring carrier are hot-set — a connection technique that does not loosen. The small O-ring at the center of the collar serves as an additional attachment point for GPS trackers or ID tags — without straining the dog's neck.

Safety & Quality

The leather is tested for chromium(VI), azo dyes, formaldehyde, and pentachlorophenol — the four critical harmful substances standardly analyzed in leather products. All metal fittings are nickel-free — suitable for dogs with sensitive or allergic skin. The buckle and D-ring are tested to a breaking load of 264 lbs (120 kg). The collar is designed for all life stages and all weather conditions.

Size Guide

Measure neck circumference with a soft tape measure. Choose a size with 1–1.5 inches of slack. When between sizes, choose the larger size.

Available Colors

Cognac Brown, Black — both with naturally patinated solid brass hardware and light contrast stitching. Both colors are permanently fixed with REACH-compliant reactive dyes.

Care

Wipe down with a dry cloth after walks. Condition monthly with a pH-neutral leather balm on a beeswax base — this nourishes the full-grain leather and promotes natural patina development. Do not polish the brass fittings — their patina is a quality characteristic. Do not machine wash. Protect from standing water and prolonged direct sunlight.
