No applied shine, no superfluous details — just natural full-grain leather in its purest form, combined with solid brass hardware that becomes richer over time rather than duller. Material & Craftsmanship

The leather is natural, unsplit full-grain cowhide — the top layer of the hide, fully intact, without buffing, without surface correction. This quality grade is known in the luxury leather goods industry as Full Grain Natural and is the material from which Hermès saddles and fine wallets are made. The surface shows the natural grain of the animal — making every leash a one-of-a-kind piece.

Tanning follows the traditional vegetable method using quebracho and oak bark extract — a process that takes several weeks and completely avoids synthetic chromium salts. The result is a leather that is REACH-compliant, free of chromium(VI), and biodegradable — for pet owners who value sustainability even in their accessories.

Every edge is hand-sanded, sealed with beeswax, and burnished — a technique from Japanese leather craft culture that completely eliminates sharp cut edges and significantly extends the leash's lifespan. The seams are executed with waxed polyester saddler's thread in saddle stitch.

Hardware & Fittings

The carabiner clasp and the O-ring on the handle are made from solid brass (CuZn37) — not gold-plated zinc or coated aluminum. Solid brass develops a warm, deep gold patina and remains permanently corrosion-resistant. The spring mechanism of the carabiner is fitted with a hardened steel spring tested to over 50,000 opening cycles — a closure that does not fail.

Safety & Quality

The leather is tested for chromium(VI), azo dyes, formaldehyde, and pentachlorophenol — tested for harmful substances in accordance with the REACH Regulation. All metal fittings are tested to a breaking load of 176 lbs (80 kg). The leash is designed for dogs up to 33 lbs (15 kg) — for small and medium breeds that deserve a fine, slender leash rather than a heavy rope.

Technical Details

Care

Wipe down with a dry cloth after walks. Condition every four to six weeks with a pH-neutral leather balm on a beeswax base — this nourishes the leather and deepens the natural patina color. Do not polish the brass fittings — their patina is a quality characteristic, not a flaw. For heavy soiling, clean with a slightly damp cloth and allow to dry completely before storing the leash.
