The curved, deep basket shape in hand-woven natural bamboo encloses your pet from all sides and creates the instinctive feeling of nest warmth that cats and small dogs seek when they want to fully relax. No synthetic material, no plastic, no compromise — just bamboo in its most natural form, combined with a cream waffle cushion you want to touch before the animal even moves in.

Material & Craftsmanship

The basket frame is made from hand-woven Moso bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis) — the most commonly used bamboo species for furniture and home accessories, known for its exceptional strength, low moisture absorption, and natural antimicrobial properties. Moso bamboo is sustainably sourced to FSC standard (Forest Stewardship Council) — it grows without pesticides, binds CO₂, and regenerates itself after harvesting without replanting.

The weave structure is tightly double-woven — each strand is woven under tension over and under the previous one, creating a stable, shape-retaining basket wall without adhesives or metal connections. All edges and intersections are hand-sanded and sealed with natural bamboo lacquer — no sharp fibers, no splinters, no risk of injury to paws or fur.

The removable inner cushion in waffle cotton fabric (100% GOTS-certified organic cotton) is padded with hypoallergenic hollow fiber fill (Oeko-Tex Standard 100) — animal-free, shape-stable, and non-clumping even after repeated washing. The characteristic waffle relief increases the surface area of the cushion and improves air circulation — the animal never lies on a stuffy surface but always on a breathable base.

Care

Machine wash the inner cushion at 86°F (30°C) — gentle cycle, phosphate-free detergent. Air dry only, do not tumble dry. Wipe the bamboo basket with a slightly damp cloth and allow to dry completely — do not soak. Occasionally treat with a natural bamboo or wood conditioning oil to keep the surface supple and preserve the color.
